Artist of the Month
March 2015
Kimberly Laguatan '16

A member of the National Art Honor Society, and student in Drawing and Mixed Media, Kim is our first artist of the month in 2015.   Her work shown here is a progression from freshman year ("Bird), to sophomore ("Sunset), to junior ("Palm Tree").

"Bird (below) is one of my favorites," she says, "because it started my love affair with art."   Using water colors, Sunset (left) enabled Kim to tap in to all the elements which represent balance and harmony -- earth, fire, and water.

Kim says she enjoyed working on Palm Tree (below)  primarily because of the subject.  "I love birds and palm trees," she says with a wide smile, "because it represents my love for Florida."

Sunset:  water color
Palm Tree:  pen and ink
Bird:  color pencils
