Students have told us they never joined TUSWebs because they don't know that much about computers and websites. In truth, we are more like the Wizard of Oz whose balloon takes off without Dorothy. When she pleads for him to come back, the Wizard admits he really doesn't know "how this thing works."
And neither do we. But that hasn't stopped us from producing videos of dancing teachers and Nobel Peace Prize winners visiting Ursuline; of introducing new music on our radio page, or presenting live shows -- from the legendary Battle of the Bands, to Koala's Got Talent.
At TUSWebs, the girl who doesn't know video designs a page. The girl who doesn't know how to design a page draws a cartoon. The girl who can't draw a cartoon proofreads, or acts, or sings, or picks up pizza. We're one of the hardest working clubs on campus, putting in long hours for nine months (or just a few hours if you are someone who simply must run track because a shin splint is a terrible thing to waste). We're also a family trying to outdo ourselves each year with the wackiest, sometimes most groundbreaking modes of entertainment and reporting that has earned us the title, "A Sweatshop of Fun."
We started as one of the first school websites by students in the country and we hope to remain leaders of this growing phenomenon. We want to produce a full-length motion picture, and have plans for streaming radio shows. We would love to feature an animated cartoon, and explore ideas for shows that will combine what we do on line with live performances.
But we need your help. Whether you create "vines' with friends or podacsts for a class. Enjoy taking photos with your Canon SLR 924 II Double Dynamo camera, or a 99 cent cell phone. Write stories, or draw pictures, or just like to hang with some pretty cool people -- stop by room 4 anytime and say hello.
Maybe you'll be the one who can figure out how this thing actually works.
