“I'll Have Time in the Morning, But I Should Make Some Tonight”

​​Crock-Pot Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal with Pepitas

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Steel-Cut oats

  • ½ cup milk/non-dairy milk/water

  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree

  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

  • a sprinkle of pepitas.

Directions:

  1. Put oats into pot

  2. Add liquid

  3. Add puree and spice

  4. Stir

  5. Turn on crock-pot before you go to bed

  6. In the morning, add pepitas, and scrape down the sides to pop out your oatmeal

  7. Either put into a bowl with a bit of liquid, microwave for a few seconds and eat, or eat as is (it’ll be like a baked oatmeal instead)

“Thank God I Planned Ahead Because I'm Late”

​​Overnight Pineapple Almond Coconut Oats

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Rolled Oats

  • 1/3 cup pineapple juice (or coconut milk)

  • 1/3 container Toasted Coconut Greek Yogurt (or any kind of Greek yogurt)

  • as much as desired: chopped pineapple, shredded coconut, any form of almonds

  • Optional: chia seeds, ground flax seeds, etc.

Directions:

  1. Put oats into jars

  2. Add juice

  3. Add yogurt

  4. Chop pineapple and add to jars

  5. Add coconut, almonds, and any other mix-ins

  6. Put lids on tightly

  7. Shake the jars!

  8. Put jars into fridge to sit overnight, grab a jar before you leave with a spoon, or enjoy it for a no-fuss breakfast

"I Got Time"

​​Microwave PB&J with Banana Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Rolled Oats

  • 1 cup milk/non-dairy milk/water (using less liquid makes a chewier oatmeal, more makes it creamier.)

  • 1 tbsp nut butter

  • 1 tbsp fruit spread

  • 1 sliced banana

  • Optional: chia seeds, ground flax seeds, etc.

Directions:

  1. Put oats into bowl

  2. Add nut butter and fruit spread

  3. Pour in liquid

  4. Put in the microwave for two minutes

  5. Slice banana while the oats cook (Peel from the bottom to avoid the “strings”, also be sure to cut off the black seed at the tip)

  6. Once oats are done, add banana

  7. Mix oats with butter, spread, and banana, and eat!

  • Chocolate Raspberry:
                Use chocolate milk or chocolate protein powder with liquid and add raspberries on top.

  • Fudgy Brownie:
                Use chocolate milk, chocolate protein powder, and chocolate chips.

  • Reese’s PB Cup:
                Use chocolate milk or chocolate protein powder with liquid and add a tablespoon of peanut butter.

  • Lemon Blueberry Muffin:
                Add lemon extract and blueberries.

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie:
                Add vanilla protein powder with liquid and chocolate chips.

  • Cinnamon Apple Pie:
                Add cinnamon and chopped apple pieces.

  • Frappuccino:
                Add coffee granules.

  • Snickerdoodle:
                Add cinnamon and vanilla extract.

  • Mint Chocolate Chip:
                Add mint extract and chocolate chips

 

            By following the ratio of ¼ oats, ½ liquid, and ¼ mix-ins, you can have an oatmeal that can be the tastiest, and easiest, breakfast you can make. Just think ahead of time and plan out the next day so you won't have to show up to school with a rumbly tummy, and instead be full and ready for the day!

Other Flavour Variations:

Ah, breakfast. “The most important meal of the day”. But, it seems to me that saying isn't always followed at Ursuline . . . With enough planning ahead of time and some creativity, breakfast can be an easy meal to have whether you have a half an hour, a couple minutes, or you are running out the door trying to put on your shoes while writing yesterday's homework.
